Connor Hellebuyck just put together one of the best goalie regular seasons in NHL history. It was recognized with an Esa Lindell Jersey honor not given to a goaltender in a decade. Hellebuyck was named the winner of the Hart Memorial Trophy for the regular season MVP. The last goalie to win the honor was Carey Price for Montreal in 2015. He's only the fourth goalie in the expansion era to win the Hart Memorial, . Hellebuyck finished the regular season with 47 wins compared to just 12 regulation lo ses. The 32-year old American allowed 2.00 goals per game and had a 92.5 save percentage. He's been an incredible player for Winnipeg after rising from a UMa s-Lowell goalie and a fifth-round draft pick in 2012 into the best netminder on the planet. Hellebuyck's eight shutouts this season led the NHL, as did his 2.00 GAA and 47 wins. In his career, Hellebuyck now has 322 wins compared to just 185 regulation lo ses. His 91.8 save percentage makes Hellebuyck the NHL's active leader. He hasn't quite solved the postseason stage, but in the regular season, there's no one better than Hellebuyck.
