U4GM Arc Raiders: How to Extract Safely for More Merit
With Converging Paths now live in ARC Raiders, a lot of players are trying to grab rewards fast, and many are doing it the hard way. If you want to keep your run clean and still build up value, it helps to buy ARC Raiders Items only when you have a clear plan for where you're going and when you'll leave.
Stay Off the Center Line
The biggest mistake is still the same one. People drop into the middle, start trading shots, then wonder why they lose everything on the way out. The center is busy, loud, and full of players who want the same loot you do. On top of that, ARC patrols usually feel worse there because there's nowhere to breathe. If you move through the middle, you're basically asking for a bad fight. A safer route is to hug the edge, use broken sightlines, and keep your path simple.
Use Height Wherever You Can
Vertical movement changes the whole run. Grapple hooks, ziplines, cranes, rooftop gaps, all of that gives you a cleaner line through the map. You'll notice pretty quickly that most players stay low and most threats end up on the roads or in open lanes. That leaves the upper routes quieter than people expect. It's not glamorous. It just works. When you can move above the traffic, you get more control, fewer surprises, and a better chance of reaching the next loot spot without burning resources.
Pick the Quiet Loot Spots
Chimneys, roof ruins, and edge-map containers are worth checking because a lot of players skip them. They're a pain to reach, sure, but that's the point. Those awkward spots often hold the kind of relics you want, especially from Nomadic Envoys, and you're less likely to run into a squad already camping the area. The trick is not to clear everything. Grab the pieces that matter, check your bag, then move. If you linger too long, the route stops being safe.
Extract Before Greed Kicks In
Set a Merit target before you load in. That simple step keeps the run from drifting. Once you hit the number you wanted, stop. Don't keep telling yourself there's "just one more crate" or "one more room." That's usually where the run falls apart. High-tier relics should stay in your bag almost every time, while mid-tier parts only make sense if the space is there. Low-value scrap is the first thing to drop when things get tight. The people who finish these runs well are usually the ones who leave early, not the ones who chase every last item.
Finish Clean and Reset
If you stay disciplined, the event starts feeling a lot easier. You move along the outer lanes, use height to skip trouble, take the good relics, and get out before the map turns messy. That's the kind of loop that actually builds progress, run after run. And if you're trying to stretch your success rate, it never hurts to keep a few cheap ARC Raiders Items in mind for the next drop, because a cleaner setup usually means a cleaner extraction.
