Improving Electrical System Reliability Through Proper Sealing
In electrical systems, many failures are related to poor cable sealing or incorrect installation practices. The Metal Cable Gland helps prevent common issues such as water ingress, cable pull-out, and grounding failure.
One frequent issue is improper torque application. If the gland is under-tightened, sealing efficiency decreases; if over-tightened, the cable sheath may be damaged. Recommended torque values depend on size, typically ranging from 10 Nm for small glands to over 20 Nm for larger ones.
Another issue is incorrect size selection. If a cable with a 12 mm outer diameter is used with a gland designed for 8–10 mm, sealing failure may occur. Proper matching of cable range is essential.

Routine maintenance includes visual inspection of seals, checking for cracks in rubber inserts, and ensuring thread tightness. In industrial environments, inspection intervals are often set between 6 to 12 months depending on operating conditions.
